This challenging expert/sport division race starts at 10 am at the South Bivouac Trailhead through the first half of Spencer Loop onto the Gasline past Prospect Heights up Powerline Trail to the top. At this point you begin the treacherous decent down into Indian. The last stretch takes you through the woods onto a beautiful hidden trail that leads you to the finish, directly behind the Indian House. Guido, the owner and master chef at the Indian house is our gracious host. Restrooms, water, food, and EMT will be available. All racers will need to arrange and provide their own transportation back to Anchorage.
The distance: 18.7 miles with 3500 feet of climbing. It is highly recommended that you pre-ride this course to truly appreciate the challenge and understand the technical requirements.
Speaking of requirements, the following items are mandatory for each racer to have on them at the start: spare tube, patch kit, pump, food, water, multi tool,and a light weight jacket.
The race fee is $25 adults ($20 juniors) and race registration deadline is Friday, August 22nd at 8 pm. Registration forms will be available at Paramount Cycles on/or before June 15th.
