Frigid Bits: Holy Moly ! Feb. 10th

This is another ride at your own pace gig, that will start at the Goose Lake Parking Lot at 7 PM on February 10th !

The riders will follow the Chester Creek Trail east to the powerline multi-use trail/ corridor to the Tudor Road overpass; then ride the Tour of Anchorage Trail to Rover's Run; ride Rover's all the way up to the multi-use corridor to the parking lot outside of the Hill Top Ski area, from there get on the multi-use trail that takes you behind Service High School and on to the TOA trail.

Now this is the important part: it is the responsibility of each rider to stay off and not ride on the ski-only trails !

Ok, now back on topic .. so we are on the TOA multi-use trail riding down the awesome screamer of a downhill and this section of the trail will eventually lead a rider down to the View Point Trail that parallels the airstrip; the riders will then follow the TOA trail where your will find yourself just north and east of the Campbell Creek Science Center. Stay on the TOA trail back to the start at Goose Lake.

Each rider will be responsible to find their own way around this course; if you have doubts about your route-finding skills, find a map of the trails and carry it with you on the ride. The other option is to form an alliance with another rider and hope they know their way around the trail system and you can hang with them. Each rider is also expected to respect the rights of the other trail users. So I hope to see as many or more regular Frigid Bits riders as last time and perhaps a noob or 2 !

February 10th and the 24th will be the dates for the nocturnal mt. bike madness.

The Feb. 10th ride will be a trail ride based out on the Hillside. In this event there will be two categories, the Endomorph Class and the other being the Snowcat or smaller category. This event will be dependent upon the trail conditions and projected night time temperatures.

February 24th is what, you say ? ? Well, it happens to be the last Saturday of the month and that only means one thing; its Tailgate Saturday !!!!!!!! I am thinking of having a relay ride / race on Goose Lake with 2 riders per team, with teams determined by the random drawing of names from a container of some sort. This event is where the team with the most laps after lets say 2 hours (TBD) of riding will be awarded bragging rights for the rest of the night. Once again, this event may change due to environmental constraints.

The Yet To be Famous Tailgate where beer guzzling and food and cookie gorging is the norm by some, will be held after the event !!! Rumor has it, that as of last night, someone is considering a challenge to Woody's Chilli ! I am sure, Gregg, your chilli will pass the FB famous taste test and be awarded the dubious and not often known about " Frigid Chilli Bits Award"! Also, please come on over and check out " Grill Master " Tim Kelly and his cool arsenal of BBQ tools ! That Frigid Bits Grill with Tim at the helm can cook some really yummy chow !

So please plan ahead for the great tailgate ! I 'm sure that all of the biking community will want to see what soon maybe Anchorage's own world-wide attraction and possible tourist trap, the one and only FBBB ( Frigid Bits Burn Barrel ) !!!!!!!! Please be warned this well rounded and really hawt and not so fuzzy item which warmed the buns of many folks in it's first nocturnal debut is to be seen and not touched.
