Kincaid Kup Series #2, Tuesday, June 21, 2005

Trail conditions were excellent today, a little dusty, but well maintained and marked. A moose mid-trail hindered a few racers, but everyone had a spectacular time under sunny skies and warm weather. Nearly one hundred racers came out tonight. Expert racers Darren Mattingley and Matt Novakovich were neck and neck at the finish line at the 2nd Kincaid Kup Series this summer. Both perennial favorites were beat out at the first Kincaid race two weeks ago, but Darren eeked out a win tonight, literally by a nose. Sixteen-year old Will Ross moved up the ranks to Expert racer from his usual slot as a Sport racer and beat out several of the more experienced, older Experts. The Arctic Bicycle Club Mountain Bike Division has some hot competition in the field this year. Should make for an interesting season.
