Event fees: 60 mile race $30 adult - $15 junior
Trials are free and for pure enjoyment
Chain less Downhill and Hill Climb $10 adult - $5 junior
The annual event takes off from the middle of the bridge( over the Copper River) in Chitina at 12 o'clock noon on Saturday, August 6th. This bumpy, rough, yet beautiful 60 mile dirt road race leads you to the camp grounds in Mccarthy. The finish is just before the small bridge into McCarthy and the epic Kennicott Lodge and Mine. most participants and families camp here a tythe camp grounds, and that is also where the trails event takes place at 8 pm that evening. During and following the trials event we will be drawing and giving away the traditional Alaskan door prizes.
In Chitina the camp ground is just past the one lane road through the rocks, and across the Copper River. Just past the bridge on the right hand side are "free" campsites. On those camp grounds on Saturday morning after 9 am will be last minute registrations, pick up your T-shirts, sign in and grab your race bib #.

On Sunday, a continuous chain less downhill race takes you from the Kennicott Lodge down to the McCarthy Museum, where you quickly set your chain free and pedal back up to the lodge by way of the old wagon trail. This fun, fast race concludes at the lodge, where most participants enjoy lunch before taking on a tour, hike around the glaciers, or check out the old mysterious Kennicott Mike.
Register early! To be guaranteed an awesome T-shirt, register on or before Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005 at RTR, Paramount Cycles, Part's Bikes, or the Bike Department at the Motorcycle Shop. Race dat registration will take place in the Chitina campground Saturday morning of August 6th.
